Соединенные Штаты Америки также называют США, СШ, Соединенные Штаты или иногда Америкой. США находятся в центральной части Северной Америки. Граничит с Канадой и Мексикой. Они омывается Атлантическим океаном, Тихим океаном и Мексиканским заливом. Столица США - Вашингтон.
Территория США состоит из трех отдельных частей: собственно США, Аляска, Гавайи.
Площадь страны составляет около 9 400 000 км2. Население составляет около 324 миллионов человек. США являются 4-й по величине страной в мире по площади суши и 3-м по численности населения.
США - это страна гор, долин и пустынь. Самые высокие горы - Аппалачи, Кордильеры, Скалистые горы и горы Сьерра-Невада в Калифорнии. Самая высокая гора США - гора Мак-Кинли, расположенная в штате Аляска.
